Kentucky Service Trip

A group of eight Jacob's Ladder alumni and five leaders went to Cranks Creek Survival Center in Eastern Kentucky August 2009.  The group completed two wheel chair ramps for disabled individuals and helped with construction of a new home for Becky and Bobby, the couple who head up Cranks Creek Survival Center.  The group learned about the lives of the people in Appalachia, saw the hardships they faced and visited shut-ins.  During the trip the group was also able to visit 5 college and university campuses including, James Madison University, Emory and Henry College, Washington and Lee University, Virginia Military Institute and University of Virginia.

The exposure these 8 high schoolers and five leaders had to one of the poorest places in the country will stay with them forever.  They only hope that their legacy has been left on such a warm community in need.
